Across the globe human race is suffering through a pandemic. Nobody could have ever thought of 2020 would be so harsh towards them that it would force everyone to stay at home. But besides all these problems we never stop ourselves from being productive. It’s in our blood to combat every disaster and still stand like a hard rock in front of any holocaust.

COVID19 we all know a virus which has almost killed lakhs of people across the globe and still the graph is rising. And not only killing but infecting people very fast. Doctors are playing their vital role to fight the virus. Also, many suggestions have been made that how we can avoid being infected.

Wash hands timely, do not touch our face, eyes, nose, and mouth. Yes and that is the only way to save ourselves from being infected.

In the middle of all this chaos, we forgot how much amount of water we are wasting?

The above question may seem illogical to those who have enough water at their home and they might not feel the seriousness of this issue. But in our society, there are many such people who face the scarcity of water at its peak. So, for them this question will always arrive that, are we really wasting a hefty amount of it? If yes, then how to manage the water from being wasted?

Well, here is a hero who thought of it and well came up with an idea to save the water at its best. Shashi Kant Baranga, while speaking to indiapeopleblog.com said, “During the lockdown, we all had a duty to keep washing our hands and to be safe. But what about water tap running open while we rub soap for 20 plus seconds. Isn’t it wasting precious water that too from crores of taps in population?”

“Crores of water taps can’t be upgraded to an auto water tap with electronic sensors in India. So we thought of making something which would help to save the water. We used some stuff like a kitchen knife, it doesn’t need any rocket science behind it just a simple skill to cut the bottom side of the bottle and used its cap and a normal wood screw.”

“Then tied this bottle to our water tap (it can be any other tap also) with the help of cotton thread. Next, then opened the main control of the tap and we touched the control screw by the back of hand and water flows from the bottle. If we remove hand water stops. So, its automatic water tap.”

After the regular manufacturing process of this Innovative Automation add-on for existing water tap; sales price to end-user would as low as Rs 20. Also, it can be assembled on simple water taps. This work by Shashi Kant Baranga is also appreciated by the Jal Shakti.

  2. Auto water tap is an excellent retrofit device to save water and avoid touch with tap. It is simple to implement.
It can be promoted in educational institutes by teaching students to make this device as craft -work artefact, and use in their homes.
I am hopeful that this device is made available in market as a DIY kit.
