India People Blog is built by a small team and a wider circle of students, writers and storytellers across the country. If you care about the stories others overlook, there may be a place for you here.
Academic internships
For students of journalism, mass communication, media studies and related subjects. Interns work on real stories across IPB News, Third Eye and Candlelight: research, reporting, writing, social media and podcast production. Internships are remote-first and guided by an editor. When you finish, you receive a certificate and published work for your portfolio.
Pitch a Third Eye story
Third Eye publishes reported features on societal truths and human-interest stories. A good pitch tells us, in a few lines, what the story is, why it matters now, who you will speak to and why you are the right person to tell it. Please pitch before you write the full piece.
Write a Candlelight profile
If you know someone who belongs in Candlelight and would like to report the story yourself, tell us about them and share samples of your writing. We will guide you through our verification and consent process.
Photography, video and podcast production
We are building the visual and documentary side of Third Eye, and producing new seasons of Voice of Youth. Photographers, videographers, editors and sound producers are welcome to share their work.
What we expect
- Original work only. No plagiarism, and no AI-written copy submitted as your own.
- Fairness to the people in your story, and honesty about how you reported it.
- Willingness to be edited. Every piece goes through our editors.
