The SC disagrees with Andhra Pradesh Government’s appeal

The Supreme Court disagrees with AP Government’s appeal for impairing compulsory primary education through English Medium Schooling.
Senior Advocate KV Vishwanathan appearing for the AP Government, claimed that impairment of primary education through English Medium Schooling was the only way to uplift the poor and dalits and push them into the mainstream.
According to KV Vishwanathan, the High Court struck down the decision even though 96% of parents want their children to be educated in English Medium.
The bench remained unimpressed and preferred to stick to the vernacular medium of education as is prevalent in developed countries like China, France, Germany and others.
