Louise Glück wins Noble Prize In Literature

The 2020 Noble Prize in Literature has been awarded to 77-year-old American poet Louise Glück, who officially became the first American woman to have won the prestigious prize since Toni Morrison in 1993.
The prize was awarded to her “for her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal.”
Glück also possesses a number of other literary awards including the National Humanities Medal, Bollingen Prize, National Book Award, Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award among others.
She is the author of The Triumph of Achilles (1985) as well as The Wild Iris (1992).
Her work contains a mix of magic, emotions, myths, history, and modern life with a personal touch.
