Election Commissioner Lavasa resigned from his post, likely to join ADB

On Tuesday, Ashok Lavasa an Election Commissioner gave his resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind. It was expected that he would be the Chief Election Commissioner after Sunil Arora. In September, he is likely to join Asia Development Bank (ABD) as a vice president for private sector operation and public-private partnership(PPP). Though Lavasa had served Indian Civil Services for a long period, hence he has the experience of both the public and private sectors.
