Adityanath restored rule of law in Uttar Pradesh; BJP will receive positive mandate in five assembly polls: Gadkari

Union minister Nitin Gadkari has claimed that the BJP will receive a “positive mandate” in the five state assembly elections for its development work and welfare measures for the poor, praising Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for “restoring” the rule of law in the state.

Adityanath is a very successful chief minister who has done “unprecedentedly” well on the issue of law and order in Uttar Pradesh and has put an end to “goonda raaj.”

With the BJP in power in four of the five states up for election, he expressed confidence that the party would win again in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur, as well as emerge as a strong force in Punjab, where it is contesting elections for the first time as the lead partner of an alliance after Akali Dal severed ties with it.

He also downplayed farmers’ dissatisfaction with the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh, claiming that no government has done more for them than the BJP administrations at the federal and state levels.

When asked about opposition parties’ criticism of the chief minister, who is known for his hardline Hindutva stance, Gadkari stated that the BJP will receive a positive mandate for its work.

When asked about Goa, where he was instrumental in the BJP forming government in 2017 by wooing allies despite winning only 13 seats in the 40-member assembly while the Congress won 17, Gadkari said the Aam Aadmi Party and the Trinamool Congress will harm the main opposition party and boost his party’s prospects.According to Gadkari, expanding the network of road infrastructure will reduce logistics costs, boost India’s exports, create more job opportunities, and bring prosperity.

Tourism will also benefit significantly, he said, noting that nearly 49 percent of capital expenditure in the sector is spent on job creation.
