Which five asteroids will be passing earth?

Before 2021 ends, five asteroids will pass earth. Asteroids are small rocky objects that orbit the sun. Although Asteroids orbit the sun like planet they are much smaller to call a planet. They are also known as planetoids or minor planets.

But despite the size, Asteroids can be dangerous. It is expected that in future, earth might get hit by one and might cause a huge loss. Scientists are studying asteroids. If one is heading towards us, we want to know about it.Five Asteroids namely, (2021 XV5), (2021 YD), (2021 XK6), (2016 YY10), (2017 XQ60), will pass earth.

Let us understand them in detail:

1. (2021 XV5)88 feet big asteroid which is almost a size of Airplane will pass earth on Dec 19. The closest approach to the earth will be 3,020,000 kilometres.

2. (2021 YD)On Dec 19, an asteroid almost size of Airplane, who’s approximate size is 170 feet will pass the earth. The closest approach will be 3,860,000 kilometres.

3. (2016 XK6)A building size asteroid who’s approximate size 310 feet will pass the earth on Dec 20. Its closest approach to the earth will be 3,340,000 kilometres.

4. (2016 YY10)73 feet big asteroid will have closest approach to the earth of distance 4,310,000 kilometres. It’s almost a size of an Airplane. It will pass on Dec 21.

5. (2017 XQ60)This asteroid the closest approach to the earth will be 5,260,000 Kilometres. Asteroid almost a size of an Airplane who’s approximate size is 150 feet will pass earth on Dec 21.

However, NASA has said that there is no risk and we are safe from the asteroids for almost next 100 years. Also, the Apophis asteroid won’t hit earth, which is going to pass, on April 13, 2029. But will be visible to the residents of the eastern hemisphere as the distance from earth will be only 20,000 miles (the moon is about 238,900 miles from the earth). The earth is safe for now from asteroids as our end is pending for next 100 years.
