Twitterati abuzz with disappearing fleets

Social media platform Twitter has set out a new rolling feature of disappearing messages within 24 hours of posting called fleets. This goes hand in hand with joining the bandwagon of other social media giants in offering of services like ephemeral messaging.
The fleets have undergone series of testing in varied countries over the course of a few months that enable users to share thoughts that are momentary by aiming to bring in users without having to worry about comments or posts gaining permanence as fixtures.
This also is a great addition for new users who can now share fleets on Twitter whenever they want to say what is going in their mind as the vantage point to it is them disappearing from your feed. A user can log in afterwards and check the same to have just gone off the shelf, which has been an onus wherein people when put to test found it comfortable and not awkward to share opinionated thoughts or something that seemed personal or casual to them.
A new tool, courtesy the fleet, as launched by Twitter has brought it under the scanner of competition with some of the best in the market viz Snapchat and Facebook that have embraced the former’s idea of disappearing messages. Twitter on a largescale caters to celebrities, political bigwigs and journalists or business heads and have been lagging in catching up in popularity with the common mass which Snapchat and Facebook has already acquired.
The last quarter is witness to the sizeable number of Twitter users which stands at 187 million, much less than other platforms. This newer feature of fleets allows users for creating messages as in ordinary tweets and with the option of inclusion of images, videos as well as emojis. This new format has been tested in Brazil, South Korea, Italy as well as India & results were positive where people engaged in conversing more through fleets.
