Resident doctors of government hospitals on strike over the NEET counselling case
The RDA doctors had gone on a strike between November 27 and December 8. Post commitments upon fastening process from the central government pertained to the pending NEET PG 2021 counselling; they revoked their strike.
Regardless, on Wednesday, Inhabitant connoisseurs at Ram Manohar Lohia, Safdarjung and Lady Hardinge sanitariums staged a protest at Safdarjung Hospital from Friday; they joined hands in support, claiming that NEET-PG 2021 batch has already been delayed by eight months.

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) harboured an announcement to the Union Health Ministry (Minister Mansukh Mandaviya) about their whack from December 17 contended that the government made a “fake promise”.”
Hence, as informed earlier, resident doctors are left with no choice but to go for withdrawal from all services (routine as well as emergency) in healthcare institutions, 17th December, 021 onwards. The onus of this unfortunate situation affecting healthcare services is on the authorities,” FORDA’s letter read.
Continuing ahead, the letter skims, “The plight of overburdened and exhausted resident doctors seems to have fallen on deaf ears of the authorities who do not seem to be concerned about the shortage of healthcare workforce due to non-admission of fresh batch of resident doctors.
“With the threat of the third wave of COVID-19 looming large, the best the authorities could have done was to expedite the counselling and subsequent admission process – instead, there is inaction and lack of urgency in the matter.”
FORDA president Dr Manish mumbled the three Centre-run facilities and resident doctors of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) had resumed the protest, and a plea has been issued to other RDAs across the country to endorse the uproar again. FORDA alleged that “doctors in multiple healthcare institutions are being threatened in various ways to abstain from the agitation”.
Benefiting to the statements of Dr Manish, Akash Yadav, vice-president, Resident Doctors Association of Delhi government-run MAMC, on Saturday asserted resident doctors of the hospital too had proceeded with their stir from Friday morning and boycotted all routine and emergency services, affecting patient care services. Inviting the Government to escalate frontline workers issues than falsifying their loyalties.
