Physical classes vs online classes

Pandemic locked everyone in and the house is the classroom for students from last 2 years. Everything was coming back to track, the lectures started, the school started and the Omicron arrived and then everything shut down again, back to their virtual classroom.
However even in pandemic lectures were not affected and the teaching didn’t stopped. The education never got full stop but maybe leaning got.
The students behind the screen do understand every concept being taught in class? and when they don’t, do they ask their doubts?
The teacher will never know what is happening behind the screen because most of the time the camera are switched off and the mics are mute. It’s like a teacher talking to her own self.
Physical lectures were far more different and better in many ways.
• The personal touch in online lectures is missing. During physical sessions, teachers knew each and every student. She had a watch on every student, their behaviour, attitude and how good they are in studies but in online classes teachers don’t even know many of them as they never came forward. Even when the teacher ask students to switch on the camera or mic or ask any questions the whole class seems to disappeared.
• The attitude of students has changed drastically, during physical classes, students were more focused and basically many were concerned about their studies but now its opposite many are least concerned about their studies and marks.
• And one can focus on studies when there are numbers of distraction all around. The phones and social media are the main reason for distraction. During classes students just zone out from the lectures and keep scrolling Instagram or playing games.
• Discipline is zero in students now. When lectures were conducted physically, they were made to follow strict rules and regulations but now they turn off the cases and mic and go back to sleep.
• But it also affects their health due to continuous screening weakening their eyesight.
• Confidence is another factor that students are losing. Due to lack of personal touch and bond with teachers, they are failing to interact and start a conversation confidently.
However nothing is in anyone’s hands and the situation became critical but the future of students has also became critical.
