Karnataka authorizes institutional separation after Omicron alert

With the variation of the new coronavirus called Omicron (B.1.1529) reported in several countries and new Covid-19 infections reported in different regions a few days ago, the Karnataka government decided to intensify surveillance evaluation.

According to recommendations made by the Covid-19 (TAC) technical advisory committee to the state government, the health and social services department has called on the officials to track and carry out”repeated RT-PCR tests” on those who are making an appearance from high-risk countries where Omnicron separate cases were found.

“All international travellers from South Africa, Botswana, and Hong Kong who have arrived in the last 15 days (from November 12) should be monitored and evaluated for repeated RT-PCR,” added a circular issued by the secretary-general  TK Anil Kumar read.

In addition, it has been decided that travellers who have been tested for the virus will be placed under “institutional isolation” for about ten days without their samples being forced to follow genome sequencing (WGS) “straight away.

Before time also, the government decided to “closely detect” the immigrants who came from these countries. The resolution was made as a result of an order issued by the Union Department of Health to carefully screen travellers from these countries.

States schools are closed and students are isolated too

A few days after the acquisition of new Covid-19 collections at Dharwad private medical institute and a few residential schools in Bengaluru, TAC eulogizes the execution of advanced content measures, insisting officials ensure “strict compliance” with them.

Mandatory rules are made by the state.

Although it was mandatory that samples of those tested for HIV in these groups should be sent to WGS first, it was recommended that various recruitment officers be appointed for general supervision and coordination of management at the International School in Bengaluru’s Dommasandra, and SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital (SDMSH) in Dharwad.
