Local train in Mumbai to resume for the general public

Mumbai local trains may start its services for the general public two weeks after Diwali provided there isn’t a significant spike in COVID-19 cases.
COVID-19 cases will be closely monitored for two weeks after Diwali following which a final call on resuming local trains for the general public will be taken according to BMC officials.
The virus has a 14-day cycle and this period will be crucial to know if there is any surge in coronavirus cases post-Diwali. Any significant spike in the daily cases would see further postponement in the resumption of service.
