Family of COVID survivors stopped from entering their home in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A family of Covid-19 survivors alleged they were stopped from entering their rented flat at a standalone building in Keshtopur when they returned after being cured of a relative’s place this week. The family alleged the landlord along with other building residents had allegedly put up a separate lock outside their flat.
Unable to enter their home, the family sought help from the local councilor and local cops with whose intervention the family could enter their home on Sunday. The building residents however have told cops that the family had not paid rent for the past five months which made the landlord put up a lock outside the home and not because they were COVID survivors.
