‘Creative yet creepy’: Dancing robots cheer the Japanese baseball team in the absence of fans

Humanoid robots Pepper and dog-like robots SPOT were found to be cheering for the team in an empty baseball stadium. The baseball stadium was devoid of fans due to the spread of coronavirus. As a result of the Japanese baseball team, Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks came up with an idea to replace the audience with the dancing robots.
Both the robots stamped and shimmied in a perfect choreographed dance that is usually performed by the Hawks’ fans before games in the capacity of 40,000 Fukuoka Dome. Some of the robots even wore Hawks caps and even waved flags to support the team.
