Calcutta University: Online open-book exams for UG and PG final semesters in October

The Calcutta University had decided and gave the confirmation for final year and postgraduate students that they will give their exams at home through online mode. They have also decided that students can keep their books open and give the exams.
The Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee made this announcement during a press conference. Banerjee said that exams would be taken for the final term exams for both UG and PG levels between 1-18 October through online mode.
The results would be out by 31st October. The question paper will be delivered to the students via WhatsApp or email. The students will be asked to submit the answer sheets through WhatsApp or email. If students will face any difficulty regarding online submission, they have the option to submit a hardcopy of their answer sheets to the university.
Usually, the UG and PG students of Calcutta University are given three hours to complete their papers, but in this special case, the University members have decided that the students would be given a 24-hour period to complete the open-book exam.
The time period will be taken into consideration when the students will get their question papers virtually. It has also been informed that the answer sheets of any particular college affiliated with CU will be evaluated by their own faculties.
