Another feather on the hat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi added another feather on his hat, as he will be awarded Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo or the Order of The Druk Gyalpo, the highest civilian decoration conferred by the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Prime Minister of Bhutan shared his joy with a tweet stating, “ Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s Narendra Modi name for the highest civilian decoration, Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo”. This award comes in recognition of the friendship and the helping hand extended by India towards Bhutan in times of worry, specially during the pandemic by sending Indian manufactured vaccines.
India and Bhutan share a very unique relationship, which is carved with utmost trust and goodwill. India’s role in Bhutan’s developmental projects like building of the 1020 MW Tala Hydroelectric Project, Paro Airport, and the Bhutan Broadcasting Station, has been highly valuable.
