Again a dangerous disease reported called ‘White Fungus’

New Delhi: After ‘Black Fungus’ a new disease is reported in Patna, Bihar. Like COVID-19 ‘White Fungus’ also damages lungs. And on the other hand, Black Fungus is infecting COVID-19 recovered patients.

According to the head of PMCH’s Microbiology Department Dr. Sn Sing, till now four cases of ‘White Fungus’ have been reported. Those four patients had symptoms like COVID-19. 

Like COVID-19 this disease affects those people who are in low immunity, suffering from diabetes, and those taking steroids for a long time. Talking with the medical experts they said, White Fungus is much more dangerous than Black Fungus.

‘White Fungus’ is as dangerous as COVID-19. But ‘White Fungus can be cured by antifungal drugs. Besides the lungs ‘White Fungus’ can also affect the stomach, nail, skin, kidney, brain, mouth, and private parts.   

He further added, “it is easy to prevent the disease by maintaining high hygiene levels for patients who are on oxygen therapy or on a ventilator. We must make sure to use sterilized water while using oxygen cylinder and humidifier.”
